Truman Eugene Hogan, age 84, of Asheboro went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Hogan was born July 25, 1929, son of William Gerald Hogan and Estelle Johnson Hogan.
Mr. Hogan was a native of Richmond County, NC and a faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. He retired from Galey and Lord and Burlington Industries after 45 years of service. Truman enjoyed golfing and making WWII model airplanes out of wood. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Truman was preceded in death by three sisters: Mildred Gainey, Dorothy Cox and Frances Benoist.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Leora West Hogan, three children: Gerald Lee Hogan and his wife, Maureen Hogan of Hinesville, GA, Karen Hogan Brewer and her husband, Scott Brewer of Southern Pines and Phillip Wayne Hogan of Asheboro; four grandchildren: Leigh Ann Hogan of Nashville, TN, Michael Hogan and his wife, Katie Hogan of Asheboro, Steven Hogan and his wife, Amber Hogan of Asheboro, and Amanda Brewer of Southern Pines; four great grandchildren: West Hogan, Lena Hogan, Elias Hogan and Walker Hogan all of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, NC.
