Treva Irene East VunCannon Greene, age 86, of Asheboro died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at home. Mrs. Greene was born April 18, 1928, the daughter of James Matt and Hattie Ruth Bowman East. Mrs. Greene was born in Mt Airy, NC and was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from B.B. Walker Company, loved sewing and did alterations for the public. She also loved gardening, fishing, and yard saleing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Edward Matthew VunCannon and Marvin "Goober" Greene; daughter and son in law: Shirley and Carl Latham; son: James Garland VunCannon; grandson: Marty Loflin and 6 siblings. She is survived by daughters: Juanita and Joe Loflin, Gail and Mike Cox, sister: Trudy Painter all of Asheboro; 7 grandchildren: Mike Loflin, Gene Latham, Scott and Mark Vuncannon, Shannon Cox, Shelly Gallimore and Brian Cox; 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her daughter, Gail at 1522 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, 5118 U.S. Hwy 220 Bus. South, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Fonner and Hoyt Russell officiating.
