Tracy Joel Turner

Tracy "Joel" Turner, age 80, of Randleman died Friday, March 16, 2018 at Universal Health Care Of Ramseur, Ramseur.

Mr. Turner was born July 22, 1937 the son of Fletcher and Alice Hancock Turner.

Mr. Turner was a native of Randolph County and a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God. Joel was retired after 26 years with the Randolph County School System and formerly was an umpire for the Randleman Little League Baseball Association. Joel enjoyed watching all sports especially UNC Basketball games and loved listening to gospel music. He was preceded in death by his parents: Fletcher and Alice Turner; sister: Marie Hoover and brother: Willie Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Jean Marsh Turner; son: Joseph "Joey" (Rebecca) Turner of Randleman; daughter: Renee (Jay) Gilliland of Randleman; stepdaughter, Lisa (Jeff) Rush of Randleman; stepson: Marshall (Gayle) Robertson of Randleman; grandchildren: Ashley Layton, Adam Gilliland, Cody Gilliland, Quincy Gilliland, Zachary Jefferson, Jonathan Jefferson, Emily (Aaron) Murray, Carrie Robertson and Garrett Robertson; great granddaughter: Savannah Murray; two nephews: Mike Turner of Jefferson City, TN and Larry Turner of Eden.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 12:30- 1:45 pm at Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Rodney Vickers and Dr. Boyd Byerly officiating.  Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
