Thomas "Tom" Eugene Schenck, Jr. passed into God's eternal presence on December 17, 2015 in Cornelius, North Carolina. Tom was born to Rev. Thomas E. Schenck, Sr. and Thelma F. (Clark) Schenck on September 7, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
At the time of Tom's death, he was the President/CEO of Total Outsourcing Partners, Inc. and Founder/Director of RightWay Counseling & Ministries. Prior to that, Tom was the General Manager/COO of NERAK & Associates, LLC in Charlotte, NC. Tom retired from Nationwide Insurance Company and served in various capacities before his retirement; including Regional Vice-President for Southeast USA, Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Associate Vice-President, Acquisitions and Development, Irvine, California. Tom was educated at Frankfort Pilgrim College, Frankfort, Indiana, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, University of North Carolina, and University of South Carolina. Tom holds Certifications as a Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) through The American College.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Frances Schenck, on July 30, 1991 and a sister, Kathy Schenck, December 13, 2013, as well as his grandparents, Rev. Dorsey & Esther Schenck, and Rev. Nick & Molly Gadd. He is survived by his father, Rev. Thomas E. Schenck, Sr., and mother, Tula (Brady) Schenck of Asheboro, NC, as well as four brothers, Dr. Richard L. Schenck (wife: Rev. Carol) of Fishers, IN, Billy Brady (wife: Harriet) of Denton, NC, Darrell Brady (wife: Patricia) of Eden, NC, Farrell Brady (wife: Paula) of Asheboro, NC, and Laura (Hoage) Rader of Fishers, IN, who was like a sister to Tom; raised from infancy by the Schenck's. He is also survived by one daughter, Lori Ann Shamblin (Schenck) of Charlotte, NC and three grandchildren; Riley, Jack, and Lily Schnappel. Tom is also survived by a nephew, Richard "Richie" Schenck II, a niece, Richelle (Schenck) Harper (husband: Ted), and one grand-niece, Charlotte Rose Harper.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, NC from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, with a Service following at the Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Hall, Dr. Richard L. Schenck, and Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp. There will also be a Celebration of Life Service at Warren Park Wesleyan Church, 6401 E. 14th Street, Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, with Dr. Richard L. & Rev. Carolyn R. Schenck Officiating. Visitation in Indianapolis will be from 9 – 11:00 am with an 11:00 am Service following. Burial following at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 9350 E.
