Thomas Norman Hunt

Thomas Norman Hunt, age 68, of Sophia, formerly of Nebo, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hunt was the son of the late James L. Hunt and Nancy Farlow Hunt. Tom was a native of Randolph County and served in the US Air Force. He was a 1964 graduate of Randleman High School and member of Marlboro Friends Meeting. Tom retired from Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company as store manager of Marion, NC for 25 years. Tom is preceded in death by his parents James and Nancy Hunt. He is survived by one sister: Nancy Ann Bostick and her husband Tommy of Midland, TX; niece, Christy Muehlbrad and her husband Scott of Midland, TX. and their children: Regan and Hunter; several special uncles and aunts who were caregivers to Tommy and several cousins. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Marlboro Friends Meeting, 2668 Marlboro Church Rd., Sophia with Rev. John Sides and Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. The Randolph County Honor Guard will perform military rites. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center. The family would like to give a special "Thanks" to Hospice and Home Instead for their excellent care for Tom during his illness and the love and support from extended family and many friends.
