Theodore B. "Bun" Pugh

Theodore B. "Bun" Pugh, age 80, of Sophia passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Pugh was born in Randolph County on February 10, 1937 to Tom and Virgie Smith Pugh. He was a 1954 graduate of Asheboro High School where he served as Class President. Bun was a very active member of Marlboro Friends Meeting. He was a former Board Member of the Randolph County Department of Social Services and after retirement was the recipient of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine award. Bun was formerly employed as Vice-President of Sheraton Finance and was the owner of Quality Auto Sales and East Court Apartments. He was a member of the Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association and was a charter member of the New Market Civitans. In addition to his parents, Bun was preceded in death by his son, Ronald D. Pugh, and brothers, Wade, Harris, Wallace, and Donnie Pugh. Bun loved cars, NASCAR racing, his work, travelling, Elvis Presley gospel music, and helping others, but mostly he loved his family and the Lord Jesus.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Beeson Pugh; son, Scott Pugh and wife Robin of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Diane H. Pugh of Sophia; grandchildren, Tiffany Brooks and husband Cody of Pittsboro, Tyler D. Pugh of Sophia, Clark Pugh of Raleigh, and Jack Pugh of Winston-Salem; sister, Phyllis Allen and husband Joe of Ramseur; and brother, Odell Pugh and wife Edie of Asheboro.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Marlboro Friends Meeting, 2668 Marlboro Church Rd., Sophia with Rev. Ray Luther and Darren Allen officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the church.
