Thelma Tilley Wilson

Thelma Mae Tilley Washburn Wilson, age 90, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Guilford County, born at the location of the Guilford Battleground. She was employed with El Moro Cigar Company in Greensboro and retired from Bates Nightwear Company. Thelma was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church of Greensboro and presently attended New Salem United Methodist Church. Thelma was a good sister to all of her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her first husband, Golden Washburn and growing flowers. Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her first husband, Golden Washburn and second husband, Vernon Wilson. She is survived by sisters: Mamie Tilley Crotts of Randleman, NC and Doris Tilley Simmons of Marietta, GA; brothers: Weldon Clifford Tilley and Jack Tilley both of Randleman, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 PM at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd., Greensboro with Rev. Bernie Dougherty officiating.
