Thelma Lee Tucker Brown, age 86, of Asheboro went to her heavenly reward Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Tony Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Midway Wesleyan Church fellowship hall, 331 Worthville Rd., Randleman.
Mrs. Brown was born April 30, 1929 to Leland and Bertha Tucker. She was a 1948 graduate of Seagrove School. She attended New Beginnings and retired from Burlington Socks. She was a NASCAR and Duke fan. She enjoyed traveling and walking at the mall.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Luther Earl Brown; daughters, Clara Lou Hollingsworth and husband Gene of Franklinville, Patsy Craven and husband Larry, Nancy Thompson, Doris LaPrade and husband Darrell, and Judy Powers, all of Asheboro; sons, Darrell Brown of Winston-Salem, and Lyndon Brown and wife Rebecca of Asheboro; grandchildren, Ricky and Tony Hollingsworth, Laura Blackburn, Jonathan Craven, Dawn Thompson, Amy Allen, Donny and Danny Brown, Denna Dudley, DJ Brown, Duane Latham, Daniel LaPrade, Kristen Brown, Shane Powers, Tabitha Brown, Niko Brown, Salena Brown, Jason Brown, April Barringer, Brandon Brown, and Devin Sprinkles, and 24 great-grandchildren; and best friend and "sister" Rachel Cagle. She had two brothers, Elsie and Glen Tucker; and three sisters, Edith Spoon, Gertha Garner, and Vella Mae Ingold.
