The Reverend Donald Dennis Sledge

The Reverend Donald Dennis Sledge, 79, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2015 at Hospice House in Asheboro. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Henry and Virginia Sledge. He attended Duke Theological Seminary and was a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theology. Rev. Sledge was a veteran of the Navy, and was the owner/operator of The Woodwright Shop in Asheboro. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Helen Sledge; daughter: Rebecca Ridgeway and her husband, Doug of Troy, 4 grandchildren: Billy Ridgeway and his wife, Megan, Matthew Ridgeway and his fiancée Lala Aghaian, Chris Ridgeway and his wife, Jennifer, David Ridgeway and his wife, Tracie; 4 great grandchildren; and sister: Ginger Bigley and her husband, Vinnie of GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A Private Memorial Service Will Be Held At A Later Date. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice House in Asheboro for their kind, loving care of our husband and Pappaw.
