Terry Charles Hunt, age 59, of Seagrove died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Hunt was born May 16, 1951 in Asheboro, NC the son of the late Robert Hunt and Myrtie Ray. Terry and his wife Vivian own and operate Cross Creek Pottery in Seagrove, NC. He was a self-taught potter. Terry was formerly employed with Georgia Pacific for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. Terry had an unsurpassed love for Seagrove Elementary School and its administration, faculty, and students. He also loved his Maple Springs Baptist Church family. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Terry will be missed by all who knew him. His smile, kindness and sense of humor will remain in their hearts forever.
He is survived by his wife: Vivian Tucker Hunt; daughter and her husband, Terri & Greg White of Sophia, NC; son and his wife, Aaron & Jamie Hunt of Greensboro, NC; grandsons, Owen & Tradd White of Sophia, NC; granddaughter, Emma Hunt of Greensboro, NC; mother and stepfather, Myrtie & Charles Ray of FL; sister & her husband, Judy & Walt Deppe of Albemarle, NC; sister & her husband, Joan & Steve Collins of Seagrove, NC. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hunt.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 PM at Asbury Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 4:00 at Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Rd., Seagrove with Rev. Howard McNeill officiating. Burial will be in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove.
