Terence Andrew Powell

RANDLEMAN - Terence Andrew "Terry" Powell, age 80, of 401 Shaw St., Randleman died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Terry was a native of Queens, NY but lived in East Northport, NY and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Queens College and of Hofsta University. Terry was a professional writer and editor and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Asheboro. He was a devoted family man, loved a good joke and was a great conversationalist. He is survived by his wife: Maryelise Paquette Powell; daughters: Michele A. Powell of Gaylordsville, CT, and Jeannine N. Powell of Burlingame, CA; son, Jonathan Powell and his wife Heather of Pottstown, PA; grandchildren, Pvt. Alexander Powell, Devon Powell and Morgan Schmoyer; and sister and her husband: Mary F. and John Rieger of Kings Park, NY. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC with a reception following. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Av., Asheboro with Father Philip Kollithanath officiating.
