Sybil Gates Busbee

Sybil Gates Busbee, age 83, of Monroe, NC, and formerly of Asheboro, NC died Monday, August 16, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. George Roberson officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 1:30 pm in the Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC. Mrs. Busbee was a native of Columbia, SC and attended Olympia High School. She was very active in her church and Sunday School at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. Sybil was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Busbee, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Faye Busbee DeHaven of Monroe, NC; son, Ernest Lee Busbee, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brother, Larry Edward Gates of Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 10-11:00 am at First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
