Swannie Barker Holland, age 89, of Thomasville, formerly of Sophia, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Piedmont Crossing, United Church Homes & Services, Thomasville. Mrs. Holland was the daughter of Earl and Annie Barker. She was a native of Randolph County and a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Randleman. Swannie was retired from Mr. Jeans and she loved to sew and embroider. In addition to her parents, Swannie is preceded in death by her husband Paul Holland; sisters, Pauline Powers and Ollie Barker; brother Richard Barker. She is survived by one daughter: Bobbie Russell and her husband Bill of Thomasville; sisters: Bertha Marsh of Randleman and Betty Jean Barker of Eden; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; special friend Mary Driver of Thomasville. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Carol Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Randleman. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Piedmont Crossing United Church Homes and Services, 100 Hedrick Dr., Thomasville, NC 27360. or Hospice Of Davidson County, Attn: Development Office, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
