Swanna Cheek Moffitt, age 93, of 632 Meadowbrook Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Randolph Hospital.
Mrs. Moffitt was a native of Randolph County and a member of First United Methodist Church. During her lifetime she had worked in the textile industry at Bossong Hosiery, Acme-McCrary and Gailey & Lord and then at Caraway Conference Center in the kitchen/serving area. Mrs. Moffitt was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Wesley Moffitt.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sexton and her husband Clarence of Asheboro; son, Tom Moffitt of McLeansville; grandchildren, Tommy, Brian and Stephen Moffitt, Mark and Chris Sexton; step grandchild, Gray and Brant Stoneman; great grandchildren, Zach, Daniel, Michaela, Helen, Thad, Trace, Avery, Harrison, Lauren, Kaitlin, Hunter, Morgan and Mason; step great grandchildren, Jordan, Donna, Gabe and Meagan; great great grandchildren, Mary Grace, Levi and Payton; sister, Faye Dunn of Ramseur, Virginia Dare Patterson of Snow Camp; brother, Broughton Cheek of Climax.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
