Susan Lynn Stone, age 56, died on Thursday, March 27, 2008. Born and raised in Asheboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lee J. and Frances Lynn Stone.
Miss Stone attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina and, in 1973; she graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. Miss Stone was a woman of heart and mind as exemplified in her living for 16 years with an extremely rare, aggressive adrenal cancer. With her doctors, she actively researched planned both her western and complementary medical treatments, doing so with a mixture of generosity, grace, grit, and fierceness. She knew acutely each day was a gift, whatever that day might hold.
Her loves were enduring: her love of literature; poetry; her love of the performing & visual arts; her love of gardening; cooking; her love of travel: her love of animals; her love of family and friends. She was grateful for the knowledge long before her death that she was well-loved during her lifetime.
