Susan “Sue” Pearl Tuel Miller, age 73 of Troy, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point.
Sue was born on November 09, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Jacob and Edna McCallister Tuel. Sue was a native of Ohio and graduated from North High School in Akron, Ohio. Sue was a person who truly never met a stranger and was a second mother to many. She was a very giving person and loved to love people. While in Ohio, Sue worked as a hairdresser. Upon moving to North Carolina, she started working as a waitress and manager of numerous restaurants in the area such as, 220 Grill, P & J’s, Seagrove Family Restaurant, Mac’s Breakfast Anytime, and lastly at Fresh Cuts deli in Seagrove. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Stephen Gurski; and niece, Stephanie Dillard.
Sue is survived by her husband of 31 years, David Miller of the home; daughter, Paula Cole (Gary) of Coleridge, grandchildren, Kirsti Burrow (Zack), Lexi Cole (Trevor), and Skylar Cole; great grandchildren, Everett, Brodie, and Westin; sister, Becky Gurski of South Carolina; brother, Skip Tuel (Lisa) of Ohio; sister-in-law, Debbie Hamilton (Rodney); nieces and nephews, Stephen J. Gurski, II, Anthony Dillard (husband to Stephanie), Loretta Singhatat (Wamis), Jacob Tuel (Susan), Emily Yan (Sophon) ; great nieces and nephews, Kaden Dillard, Teylah Dillard, Ryker Dillard, Roan Singhatat, and Maya Singhatat; step grandson, Justin Oxendine (Kristyna); step grandchildren, Riley Oxendine, Raiden Oxendine, and Ryker Oxendine.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 1:45 PM at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 7811 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brian Faircloth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery after the service.
