Susan Church Luther

Susan Katherine Church “Susie” Luther, age 70, of Asheboro died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Luther was born November 6, 1948 in Archdale to Joe and Katherine Daves Church.  She taught and retired after 25 years of service in the Asheboro City School system. Susie enjoyed gardening, being out in nature, and going fishing.  She loved traveling to the beach and collecting seashells.  Susie was also a member at Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  She is preceded in death by her brother; John Church.  

She is survived by her husband of 48 years; Richard Luther, Sr., son; Richard Milton Luther, Jr. of Asheboro, granddaughter; Zoey Miller of Asheboro, parents; Joe and Katherine Daves Church, Sr. of Asheboro, brother; Joe Church, Jr. and wife Terri of Asheboro, sisters; Betsy Church of Asheboro and Becky Solomon and husband Larry of Lawrenceville, GA, and her mother-in-law; Rebecca Luther of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.  The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 6030 Oak Grove Church Rd., Asheboro with Bobby Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
