Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Martin Hayes 78 of Randleman passed away Friday morning at High Point Regional Hospital after a period of declining health.  Mrs. Hayes was married to her husband C.O. Hayes for 46 years.  She loved spending time with her family and especially cooking for her family.  She was known to be a great cook.  Mrs. Hayes was very active in her church and loved cooking for her church family as well.  She enjoyed hearing a good joke and watching her favorite TV shows.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband C.O. Hayes of the home, one daughter Dawn Vernon Nelson (Daniel) of Randleman, one stepson Charles Hayes of Randleman.  She is also survived by 6 granddaughters Jessica Martin (Cole) of Sophia, Melanie Hayes (Derrick Woods) of Randleman, Laura Beth Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska, Alyssa Nelson of Randleman, Lillian Nelson of Randleman and Lacey Nelson of Randleman. One great-granddaughter Amelia Hayes of Randleman.  One sister Ruth Macklin of Maryland and one brother Johnny David Martin (Beverly) of State College, PA.  Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Hayes will be held Tuesday November 12th., 2024, at 2:00 pm at New Salem United Methodist Church by Rev. Johnny Lord.  Visitation for Mrs. Hayes will be prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 at the church.  Burial will follow the service at the New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made either to the New Salem United Methodist Church General Fund or to the church cemetery fund.
