Sunny Daniel Thompson, age 40, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Troy, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at her home.
Sunny was born May 14, 1975 at Moore County to Jerry Edward and Janno Perry Daniel.
She was a 1993 graduate of East Montgomery High School; she attended UNC-G as an undergraduate student and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Music Therapy from East Carolina University.
Sunny was a member of Sahuaro Baptist Church of Tucson where she was choir director and pianist. She was a music teacher at Tanque Verde Elementary School, teaching grades K-6.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Edward Daniel, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Enid Perry and paternal grandparents, Marvin and Blanche Daniel.
She is survived by her mother, Janno Perry Lewis and stepfather of thirteen years, Harry B. Lewis, III of Troy; husband: Lt. Colonel Chris Thompson of the home; a daughter: Carly P. Thompson of the home and a son: Daniel P. Thompson, also of the home; one sister: Shelli Daniel Kelly and husband, Ron of Candor; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ret. Lt. Colonel Thomas Thompson and wife, Utai of Dallas, Texas.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 10 am – 12 noon at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Troy with Dr. Phillips McRae and Rev. Jack Luther officiating. A private inurnment will be held.
