Sula Phillips

Sula Deaton Phillips, age 89, of Randleman died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Gerald Hussey and Rev. Jim Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m. on Friday at her home. Mrs. Phillips was born on December 22, 1922 in Randolph County to Baxter and Abbie Hayes Deaton. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Falls Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Sula was preceded in death by her husband Talmage Cleveland Phillips and her brothers Cecil and Vernie Deaton. She is survived by her son, Rex Phillips and his wife Hope of Randleman, NC; daughter, Abbie Latham of Randleman, NC; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Macon and her husband Orville of Erect, NC; Mamie Dunn of Erect, NC; and sisters-in-law, Bessie Deaton of Erect, NC and Beulah Deaton of Erect, NC.
