Stewart Douglas McKee

Stewart Douglas "Doug" McKee, age 69, of Asheboro died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. McKee was born February 12, 1943 to Charles and Marie McKee in Loudon, TN. Doug was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, a former Sunday School teacher and deacon at Forest Park Baptist Church. He was retired from Asheboro Elastics Corporation where he was a supervisor. He was a devoted husband and father, enjoying fishing with his family and playing golf with his friends. He spent several years as a youth baseball and basketball coach. Doug was preceded in death by his father: Charles McKee and his wife of 51 years; Pearl McKee. He is survived by his son: Tony McKee and his wife, Anita of Asheboro; daughter: Tonya Needham and her fiancé, Scott Councilman of Asheboro; grandchildren: Derek McKee and his wife, Gina of Asheboro, Stephanie Needham of Asheboro, Nicole McKee of Asheboro and her fiancé, Brett Wilson of Evans, GA, Stephen Sweatt of Greensboro; great grandchild: Colton McKee of Asheboro; mother: Marie McKee and sister: Patricia McKee Starritt both of Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends Monday, May 7, 2012 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM prior to the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. Richard Crider and Rev. Kermit Gray officiating. Inurnment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
