Stewart Dewayne Glenn

Stewart Dewayne Glenn, age 79, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Mr. Glenn was born in Miami, Oklahoma on May 21, 1943 to Lloyd and Erma Venis Glenn. Stewart graduated Miami High School in 1961. Stewart proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era from 1966 - 1970. He served one year at Phan Rang Air Base, South Vietnam, as an engine mechanic on C-124 aircraft. 

In 1969, Stewart graduated from Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg, Kansas with a B S in business administration. He then worked as a supervisor at the B F Goodrich plant in Miami, OK from 1970 until the plant closed in 1986. In 1988, he relocated his family to Asheboro NC where he worked in management at Oliver Rubber Company and Vesture Corporation until he retired. 

Stewart enjoyed operating his Ham radios (call sign AG4VS) and reading in his spare time. He was a friend and mentor to many and loved to share his wealth of knowledge on many subjects with others.

In addition to his parents, Stewart was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Weaver Glenn and brother, Leonard Glenn.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Osborne and husband Larry of Clemmons; and brother, Brad Glenn of Miami, Oklahoma.

 No services are planned at this time.
