Stephen Mark Bevis, age 61, of Randleman passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Randolph Health.
Mr. Bevis was born in Davidson County on December 19, 1959 to Darrell and Edith Predmore Johnson. Mark served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a truck driver with Hogan Industries for 9 years. Mark was preceded in death by his daughter, Sammantha Bevis, father, Darrell Johnson, mother, Edith Johnson, stepfather-in-law, Paul Farris, father-in-law and mother-in-in-law, Bobby and Vernie Burns, and his sister-in-law Julie Johnson. Mark enjoyed riding bulls and was a former rodeo clown in Germany. He loved spending time with his grandkids, riding motorcycles, and growing his beard.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bevis; daughters, Valerie Jacobs of Laurinburg, Christy Whiteside (Kenny) of Randleman, and Satrie Smith (Julian) of Randleman; son, Dakota Bevis of Randleman; grandchildren, Jasmine Jacobs, Cherokee Atkins, Tevyn Atkins, Olen Hale, Austin Whiteside, Hope Whiteside, and Paisley Rawlings; 3 great grandchildren; brother, John Johnson of Florida; sister, Marjorie Bulkley of New York; mother-in-law, Maebelle Barton of Randleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Mark's body will lie in repose on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 11:00 am-3:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 4:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Ball officiating.
