Samuel Stanton Trogdon, age 66, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Clapp's Nursing Home.
Mr. Trogdon was born February 18, 1944, in Asheboro to Cecil and Mozelle Voncannon Trogdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, W. Gilbert Trogdon, James H. "Jimmy" Trogdon and SP4 Ronald G. "Ronnie" Trogdon.
Mr. Trogdon was a native of Asheboro and a 1966 graduate of Asheboro High School. He was a member of Asheboro First Wesleyan Church where he was active with the Wesleyan Men's Fellowship and former member of Ash-Rand Rescue Squad. He was retired from Energizer Battery Co. and also worked with Klopman Mills and Klaussner Furniture.
He is survived by brothers, Norman C. Trogdon and wife, Doris of Asheboro, Joe V. Trogdon and wife Phylis of Angier, NC; sisters, Martha T. Watson and husband Ken of Asheboro, Nancy T. Allred and husband Laris of Asheboro; sisters-in-law, Dot T. Key of Asheboro, Ava G. Trogdon of Asheboro; nephews and nieces, Steve Trogdon, Eddie Trogdon, Donna T. Pendergrast, Kent Trogdon, Eric Trogdon, Terri T. Fussell, Amy T. Wikman, Dee T. Washington, Beth Trogdon, Harold Trogdon, Alan Watson, Karen W. Crews, Jason Allred and Jarred Allred; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Asheboro First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark C. Beane and Rev. A. J. Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Nurses Station 2 staff as well as the entire staff of Clapp's Nursing Home for their care and concern given to Mr. Trogdon during his stay there.
