Stanley E. Cottrell, 73, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at his home in Randleman surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 7, 1950 in Pliny, WV to Harvey Edgar Cottrell and Mary Louise Sumner.
Stanley was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He was a truck driver his entire life and could be found hanging out at the Randleman Service Station. Stanley led a simple life with his longtime girlfriend of 15 years, Penny Morris. When he wasn’t working on something, he liked to travel but mostly, he loved spending time with his family.
Stanley is survived by his daughter, Shannon Cottrell of the home; son, David Cottrell (Brandy) of Randleman; longtime girlfriend, Penny Morris; grandchildren, Natalie Cottrell, Meredith Helton, Megan Parrish (Caleb), Nathaniel Everson (Kaylee), Tori Cottrell, Joshua Everson, Madelyn Cottrell, Jacob Chaffin, Elizabeth Chafin; great-grandchildren, River, Callie Mae, Maverick, Remington; two sisters, Charlotte Welborn and Shawn (Coe) VonCannon. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 S. Main St, Randleman. Funeral services will follow on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Alvin Powell officiating. Interment will be at Gray’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, 5056 NC Hwy 22 North, Franklinville, NC.
