Sidney Gordon Keeter

Sidney Gordon Keeter Jr., age 67, of Asheboro, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Keeter was born on July 29, 1945 to Sidney Gordon Keeter Sr. and Christine Buck Keeter in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He retired after 32 years of teaching in Asheboro City and Randolph County Schools. He was a man who enjoyed fishing, cooking, woodworking, computers, and spending time with his family. Also, he spent much of his personal time involved in activities such as Jaycees, Scouting, and volunteer work in other capacities. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Paula Tart Keeter; sons Ryan Keeter and wife, Amy of Cary, Kevin Keeter and wife, Laura of Clayton; grandchildren, Susannah and Markus Keeter of Cary; sisters Amy Hamlet and husband, David of Efland, NC, Ruth Barbour and husband, Pat of River Bend, NC; brothers, Neal Keeter and wife, Denise of Cary; Edward Keeter and wife, Ellen of Virginia Beach. Visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 23 in the Family Life Center at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main St., Asheboro. A service of celebration will be held in the church sanctuary at 4:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held later at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, 300 South Main St., Asheboro, NC 27203. Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is assisting the family.
