Shirley Deese "Spitfire" Terry, age 78, of Randleman, who entered this world at two pounds, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Terry was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose door was always open to those in need. She welcomed all with a smile and she was unselfish with all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She was native of Richmond County and graduated from Rohannon High School in 1954. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Randleman. Shirley had been employed by Sealtest in Charlotte and Ryder Trucking in Greensboro. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband: William "Larry" Terry; grandmother: Hattie Little; parents: Coley and Rennie Deese and her brother: Donald Deese.
She is survived by two daughters: Terri Horne and her husband James of Greensboro, and Deborah Stevens and her husband Terry of Greensboro; grandchildren: Michael Joseph Ensor of Greensboro, Kimberly Ceree Napier of Kernersville, Jason Stevens, Kyle Stevens and Bradley Stevens all of Greensboro; 8 great grandchildren; cousin: Doris Pierce and her husband Graham of Charlotte; 6 brothers-in-law and their wives and one sister-in-law, all of Rome, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 435 NC Hwy 62W, Randleman with Dr. Marvin Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro.
