Shirley Smith

Shirley Seagraves Smith, 79, of Asheboro, NC went to her heavenly reward on June 23, 2018 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC.

Shirley was born in Gastonia, NC on November 23, 1938 to the late James "Euel" Seagraves and Hattie Mauney Seagraves.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Smith of Asheboro, NC and brother-in-law, Harold Mull of Gastonia.

Shirley was born and raised in Gastonia and lived in Gaston County until she married and moved to Asheboro where she resided with her husband.  She was a long-time member of West Chapel Methodist Church and a retired dietician from Loflin Elementary School where she nurtured and loved "her little people" for many years.

She is survived by her siblings, Larry Seagraves, Sr., (Joan); Jean Brannon (Clyde Stroupe); Ann Lanier (David); Joyce Mull, Richard Seagraves (Ann) and Dennis Seagraves (Sherry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28th prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27203. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
