Shirley Ann Jarrell

Shirley Ann Summey Jarrell, age 71, of 945 S. Church St., Apt. 113, Asheboro died Friday, February 22, 2013 at her son's home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Ms Jarrell was born June 25, 1941 the daughter of John Lespie Summey and Edna Vonzelle Wood Summey. Ms. Jarrell was a native of Randolph County and formerly employed with Jockey International. She was a member of Covenant Christian Church and loved word find puzzles, reading, writing poems and nature. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann Parks. She is survived by her children: Michael Dell Parks and partner Sal Valentino of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cynthia Vonzelle Fonville of Randleman, Debra Hughes of Charlotte, Delonda Gail Bowman of Asheboro, Dyvonne Ranae Bowman of Ramseur, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, one sister: Ronda Hughes and her husband Jerry of Asheboro and one brother: Dennis Summey of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her daughter, Cynthia, 4285 Fox Street, Randleman. The funeral will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Pastor Lois Johnson officiating.
