Sharon Clark Higgins, age 68, of, Asheboro died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, after an 11 year courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, step mother, grandmother and friend. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: George and Beulah Clark, brother: David Clark and niece: Susan Parks.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, a graduate of Seagrove High School and retired from Energizer Battery. Until recently, Sharon was a long time employee of Belk Department Store and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband: John D. Higgins of the home, daughter: Charity Noelle Minor and her husband, Ben of High Point; stepdaughter: Debbie Higgins Pickens and husband, Don of Asheboro; stepsons: Rodney Higgins of Asheboro and Randy Higgins and wife, Arlene of Charlotte; sister: Ramona Parks and husband, Floyd of Ramseur; brother: Jeffrey Clark and wife Margaret of Ulah; devoted sister in law: Peggy Clark Holder and husband, Sandy of Asheboro; sister in law: Nancy Higgins Buie of Asheboro; brother in law: Joe Higgins and wife, Zelma of Gibsonville; grandchildren: McKenzie Clark Minor, Jason Smith, Jake Smith, Addison Higgins, Haley Higgins, Finley Higgins and numerous nieces and nephews. For her entire life, Sharon was a champion for the underdog, and was humble, kind, loving and supportive for all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Connie Weaver and Rev. Brian Gawf officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the large fellowship hall.
