Scott Dewayne Burrow, age 81, of Asheboro died Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home on the same day as his deceased wife's birthday.
He was born April 1, 1940 in Randolph County to Joe Howard and Annie Handy Burrow.
Scott was a 1958 graduate of Asheboro High School, attended High Point College and Wingate College where he played football. He served in the Army National Guard. He was the owner/operator of Sir Pizza-Dixie Drive and was a member of Gideons International. Scott was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher. He also was an instructor for Community Bible Study in Asheboro. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Hipp Burrow and granddaughter, Beth Cook.
He is survived by daughters, Elaine Kidd and Karen Purvis and husband Joey all of Asheboro; sons, Bill Anderson of Smyrna, GA, Greg Burrow and wife Carla of Asheboro; grandchildren, Travis Kidd and wife Leslie of Asheboro, Loren Purvis, Andrea Purvis, Becca Purvis, Lilly Burrow, Madison Burrow and Scotty Burrow all of Asheboro; great grandsons, Price and Mason Kidd both of Asheboro; brother, Ed Burrow and wife Ann; sister, Jurine Burrow Shane and husband Tony; and his K9 companion, Little Man Rufus.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 28, 2021 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Dr. Donald Haynes and Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
