Saundra "Sam" Brown Garner, age 78, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
Mrs. Garner was born in Randolph County on December 4, 1939 to Athel Wayne and Juanita McNeill Brown whom preceded her in death. She attended Russell's Grove Baptist Church and was a devoted mother who loved the Lord and her family. Saundra was very talented designer for Wells Hosiery in their clothing line for many years before retiring. She had a passion for camping and traveling with her family and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Homer Ray Garner; son, Chris Garner and wife Lisa of Asheboro; daughter, Terri Garner Tourdot of the home; grandchildren, Josh Garner of Asheboro, Ashley Garner of Asheville, Brad Morton and wife, Andrea of AR; great granddaughter, Cordelia Chessom of Asheville; and brother, Wayne Brown of Texas.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating.
