Sarah Tyson Pugh, age 83, of 1413 Westmont Drive, Asheboro died March 16, 2001 at her home.

Mrs. Pugh was a native of Mebane. A graduate of Greensboro College, she taught in elementary schools in Mebane, Troy, and Asheboro. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was active in her church circle (Circle Number 1) and had served on the Administrative Board. Since her marriage to Jack Pugh in 1942 she had been active in the operations of Pugh Funeral Homes.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Elizabeth P. and Fred Jones of High Point, sons and daughters-in-law; Tom and Sandra Pugh of Ruffin, Mac and Ann Pugh, and Ed and Katherine Pugh of Asheboro; grandchildren, Page Jones of Charleston, SC, Bud Jones of Spartanburg, SC, and Jonathan and William Pugh of Asheboro; and former husband, Jack Pugh of Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore and Rev. William H. Pheagin officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends at the Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro from 6 to 8 PM, Monday March 19, 2001.
