Sara Miller Hughes

Sara Emiley Miller Hughes, age 65, of 818 Powhatan Ave., Asheboro died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at her home.Mrs. Hughes was born September 19, 1943 the daughter of Lee and Josie Hancock Miller.Mrs. Hughes was a native of Randolph County and had worked with Rampon Products, Days Inn, Hampton Inn and Wal-Mart. She was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church where she had been involved with Vacation Bible School over the years. She enjoyed her sponsorship of a child through the Children's Christian Fund. She was preceded in death by her son: Jeffrey Hughes, granddaughter: Jessica Hughes and her sister: Ruby Smith. She is survived by her husband: Ray Hughes; son and his wife, Joe and Beverly Hughes of Asheboro, NC; son and his wife, Phillip and Bobbi Hughes of Ramseur, NC; grandchildren: Douglas, Daniel, Kelli, Kayla, Ashley, Allison and Michael Hughes; four sisters: Gloria Auman of Seagrove, NC, Vivian Miller of Asheboro, NC, Sandra Miller of Asheboro, NC, Debra McElreath of Asheboro, NC and one brother: David Miller of Greenville, NC.The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Chapel, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating.
