Sara Bruton Albright, age 97, of Troy died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at her home.
Sara was born November 14, 1915 at Mt. Gilead, NC, the daughter of Richard Frederick Bruton and Muzetta Haywood Bruton.
Sara was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Troy for many, many years. Prior to declining health, she was an active member and served in several positions of church service. She was a former cafeteria employee with the Montgomery County School System.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands: Woodrow Thompson, Jim Wallace and Dr. Emerson Albright; siblings: Mary Shoemaker, Frederick Bruton and Ralph Bruton.
She is survived by one daughter: Joanne Newsom of Denton; two sons: Larry Thompson of Melborne, Florida and Jerry Thompson of Troy; one sister: Ann Hayward of Georgia; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 am in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Troy, 401 E. Main Street, Troy with Rev. Raleigh Castelloe officiating. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, PO Box 442, Troy, NC 27371.
