Sally Marian Girod

Sally Marian Johns Girod, age 82, of 514 Vision Dr., Asheboro died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Carolina House Of Asheboro, Asheboro. Mrs. Girod was born October 9, 1927 the daughter of William Iver and Sarann Hopkins Johns. Mrs. Girod was a native of Canton, OH and after raising her four sons found a career in the banking business. She was married to her husband, Paul for more than 63 years and was very active in First Presbyterian Church; serving the Westminster Sunday School Class and in the Presbyterian Women. She also enjoyed her time in the "5 B's" at the church. She is survived by her husband: Paul Arthur Girod and four sons: Marc and Tom Girod of Asheboro, NC; Brad Girod of Greensboro; David Girod of Elon, NC; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Connie Weaver and Rev. David Girod officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be in the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church.
