Sallie Harris Moore

Sallie Harris Moore, age 83, of Asheboro died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Moore was born in Wadeville, NC on June 9, 1931 to Willie and Lillie Hunsucker Harris. Sallie was retired from Centel Telephone after 30 years of service and after her retirement, she worked as a Tour Director with Holiday Tours, where she had over 52,000 passengers. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Sallie was preceded in death by her husband Garrett Moore and sister Lottie Mabry. She is survived by her sons, Freddie Moore of Asheboro, Ken Moore and wife Leah of Greensboro; grandchildren, Meredith Moore Gerace and husband Garry of Marietta, GA, Blaine Moore of Trinity, Shane Moore of Asheboro; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Clayton Harris of Troy, Melvin Harris of Albemarle, Rayvon Harris of Greensboro; and sisters, Vera Owens of Asheboro and Coline Gibson of Troy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at 245 Ginger Ct., Randleman.
