Sallie Chandler

Thelma Pugh "Sallie" Chandler, age 93, of Mountain Top Residential Apartments, Asheboro died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church, 4475 Rehobeth Church Road, Greensboro with Rev. Susan Pillsbury-Taylor and Rev. Dr. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Chandler was reared in the Bethany United Methodist Church Community in Randolph County. She moved to Greensboro in 1928 and became a dedicated member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.M. (Mott) Chandler and son, Gary, whom she lovingly took care of for 39 years. She is survived by her two daughters: Daughter, Patricia C. Millikan and husband Tom Millikan; granddaughter Lynn M. Ransom and husband Butch; great grandson Joshua, great granddaughters Anna and Caroline Ransom, granddaughter Pam M. Schultz and husband Craig; great granddaughter Jordan and great grandson Mason Schultz; Daughter, Kay C. Ogburn and husband Rev. R. Lynn Ogburn; granddaughter Christy O. Matheson and husband Carey, great granddaughter Salem and one month old triplet great grandsons Creed, Sawyer, and Jax Matheson, grandson Matthew C. Ogburn and wife Zayda; great granddaughters Madison and Maya Ogburn; sister Pauline Weatherly and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chandler will lie in state at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro on Friday, January 11, 2008 until 2:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Dr., Greensboro from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday.
