Ruth Welch Yow

Ruth Welch Yow, age 86, of 1306 Old Cox Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 11:00 AM-12:00 noon at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A graveside service will follow on Friday at 12:30 PM at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Terri Howard and Rev. A. Eugene Goldfinch, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Yow was born in Ramseur, NC on October 5, 1924 to Vernie L. and Elsie Owen Welch. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cedar Falls United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Yow, her sister Verlene W. Hoover, and her brothers Junior Welch and Tate Welch. Ruth was an avid craftsperson and enjoyed doing needlework, crocheting, and knitting. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Yow Mislan and her husband Mark of W. Palm Beach , FL; sister, Doris W. Pugh and her husband Rufus of Asheboro, NC; brother, Russell Welch and his wife Louise of Ramseur, NC; and special friends, Lydia Craven, Karen and Tony York, and Gwen Poole.
