Ruth Poole Ward

Ruth Poole Ward, age 85, of 934 Ward Valley Dr., Asheboro died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Falls Baptist Church, 1332 Old Liberty Rd., Asheboro. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Ward was a native of Asheboro and was a member of Central Falls Baptist Church. She was retired from Shapiro & Shapiro and was formerly employed with Stedman Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom, Claude, and Ed Poole, and her sisters, Mary Gaster, Rosa Clark and Cora Freeman. Ruth was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Bickett Ward; daughters, Elaine Hunt and her husband Donald of Randleman, Louise Hogan and her husband Leslie of Denton; sons, Alvin Ward and his wife Cathy of Franklinville, Bill Ward and his wife Doris of Asheboro, Danny Ward and his wife Shirley of Randleman; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home. Memorials may be made to the Central Falls Baptist Church Senior Citizen Group, 1332 Old Liberty Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203.
