Ruth Walker

Allen Ruth Brunt Walker, age 93, of Asheboro died Friday, February 26, 2016. Mrs. Walker was born September 19, 1922 in Winston- Salem to James Hartwell and Ola Swaim Brunt. She was a graduate of Reynolds High School and attended Mars Hill College. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Russell G. Walker. She is survived by her children, Russell Walker, Jr and wife Diane, Susan Smith and husband Rich, Steve Walker and wife Karen; grandchildren, Heather W. Azzu and husband Joe, Brent Walker and wife Christine, Jaime Walker, Allison S. Walker and husband Scott, Walker Smith and wife Nicole, Brian Walker and wife Kelen, Sam Walker; great grandchildren, Ada, Isabel, Charlotte, Kevin and Taran Walker; brother, Stan Brunt. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Kim Canter of Home Health of Randolph Hospital and all of the other caregivers who assisted Mrs. Walker during her illness. Memorials may be made to Russell G.
