Ruth Williford Robinson

Ruth Williford Robinson, age 98, of Asheboro died Monday, December 19, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Robinson was born February 15, 1918 in Wilson to Thaddeus and Mary Sharp Williford. Mrs. Robinson was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was president of Senior Group. She was retired from Stedman Corporation after 20 years of service. Being born prior to the ratification of the 19th amendment, she was delighted to be able to vote for a woman during the last presidential election. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Robinson and four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son, Rhodes Robinson, Jr. and wife Sarah of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Willa R. McNeill and husband Jerry of Matthews, Thadia R. George and husband Don of Westfield; grandchildren, Kimberly McNeill and husband Miles Tihansky, Meredith Thomas and husband Ben, Molly Cassis and husband Lee, Thad Robinson; great grandchildren, Ephraim Thomas, Warner Thomas and Abram Cassis. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro with Dr. Scotty Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 12:30 pm. A private burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Randolph for the care and compassion given Mrs. Robinson during her illness. In addition, the family would like to thank Dr. John Cameron for his kind, gracious and attentive care over the years.
