Ruth Bruton Mollman, age 93, formerly of Hoover Street, Asheboro earned her heavenly wings Friday, March 15, 2013 at Alamance Health Care Center, Burlington following a long illness.
Ruth was born February 18, 1920 in Troy, NC the daughter of Clarence and Annie Bruton.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro since 1936 and a member of the Blanche McGlohon Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Mollman, four brothers: Edgar Bruton, Rev. Paul Bruton, Winfred Bruton and Eric Hubert Bruton, one sister: Ethel Bruton Kivett.
She is survived by two daughters: Becky Everette and her husband, Michael of Raleigh, Terri Blackwell and her husband, John of Burlington, and one son: Bill Mollman and his wife, Wilma of Asheboro; granddaughters: Lu Anne M. Simpson of Thomasville, Serena E. Slade of Greenville and Sarah Everett of Richmond, VA, Katie Blackwell of Burlington, grandson, Daniel Blackwell of Snow Camp; great granddaughter: Amanda Smith of Thomasville; and her nieces and nephews.
Ruth worked doing alternations for Kiser Laundry for many years, as a Crossing Guard at Charles McCrary School and was active as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed working in her yard, keeping it vibrant with her flowers each year, and caring for her cats, as well as her children.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Bill and Wilma Mollman, 561 Twain Drive, Asheboro, NC.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. George W. Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
