Ruth Mathias Hunter

Ruth M. Hunter, age 81, of 1302 Old Cox Rd. Asheboro died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Crossroads Alzheimer's Unit. Mrs. Hunter was born on December 24, 1925 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007, 10 AM at Church of The Good Shepherd where Reverend Dr. Everett Thomas will officiate. Reception will be at the home of John and Karen Bloxsom immediately following. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. Hunter. She is survived by her 3 children: Karen Bloxsom and husband John of Denton, NC, William J. Hunter II and wife Leigh Ann of Gulfport, MS; and Timothy Hunter and wife Joanne of Surfside Beach, SC. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren: Jaimie Malone of Raleigh, NC; John Bloxsom of Cornelius, NC; Bill Hunter of Boston, Mass.; Kaitlin Bloxsom of Charlotte, NC; Tyler and Amber Hunter of Gulfport, MS; Sydney, Jack, Sam and Jane Hunter of Surfside Beach, SC and 2 great grandchildren Michael John and Cole Malone of Raleigh, NC; Sisters: Dorothy Wills of Orangeville, PA; Betty Wilson, Upper Darby, PA; Brother: Wilber Mathias, Baltimore, MD. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked well into her 70's for Mark Services as a Senior Sales Executive with extensive travel throughout the United States.
