Ruth Anne Hammond

Ruth Anne Hammond, age 73, formerly of 525 Holly St., Asheboro died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Ms. Hammond was born March 8, 1936 at Asheboro, NC the daughter of Paul Alexander and Carrie Cranford Hammond. She was a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting. Ms. Hammond was a graduate of Asheboro High School, Guilford College, and received her masters from UNC-G. She was a retired teacher having taught most or her career at Williams High School in Burlington, NC. She is survived by cousins: Tommy Cranford and Phillip Cranford both of Asheboro; Patricia Cranford Yegee of Charlotte; Irene Hammond Allen; Harold Hammond; Helen Spillman; W. A. Hammond; Margaret Ellen Loflin all of Asheboro, Hyatt Hammond Of Greensboro. The family will receive friends Monday December 28, 2009 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Monday at 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
