Ruth Parks Gray

Ruth Parks Gray, age 94, of Asheboro died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Randolph Hospice House. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garland Hall officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Gray was born in Randolph County on January 13, 1919 to Alvis and Della Vuncannon Parks. She attended High Pine Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 6 sisters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ruth enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Curtis R. Gray; sons, C. Jerry Gray and his wife Betty of Asheboro, Terry E. Gray and his wife Dianne of Asheboro; daughter, Ann G. Strider and her husband Paul of Asheboro; grandchildren, Susan Craig, Emily Lyons, Amy Gray, Debbie Strider, Scott Gray, and Robert Gray; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Ruby Callicutt of Asheboro.
