Ruth Williams Forbes

Ruth Constance Williams Forbes, age 90, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Forbes was born in Charleston, WV on July 7, 1928 to Joseph Adam and Mamie Mae Comer Williams. Ruth was a Christian, spiritual, and spirited lady, who was a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Forbes, grandson, David Glenn Devore III, and 6 siblings. Ruth was strong, intelligent, and strong-willed.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Jo Forbes of Asheboro; sons, Robert Edward Forbes of Memphis, TN, Gregory Scott Forbes and wife Cathy of Lexington, and Jeffrey Todd Forbes and wife Lise of Asheboro; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy R. Kidd Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
