Ruth Allred Flynt

Ruth Allred Flynt, age 97, formerly of Arrowwood Rd., Asheboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro. SERVICE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. NO DECISION FOR RESCHEDULE HAS BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. She was a loving and devoted daughter, friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved and admired for her patience and kindness by all those who knew her. Mrs. Flynt was preceded in death by her husband, James Alexander Flynt and her three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her only child, James Harrell Flynt and his wife, Hilda Grey Flynt of Lexington, North Carolina. Her three grandchildren are Darlene Rebecca Flynt of Charlotte, North Carolina, James Alan Flynt of Atlanta, Georgia and Bonnie Grey Flynt of Doraville, Georgia. The family would like to express appreciation to the dedicated staff of Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center where Mrs. Flynt resided for the final 10 years of her life. Special appreciation is acknowledged to her nephew, J.C. Bryant, of Asheboro for his dedication and loving care. For many years, Mrs. Flynt was an active and engaged member of Asheboro United Church of Christ serving as church historian, Sunday School teacher for many years and was honored as being the "Woman of the Year." The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday, January 29, 2010 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Asheboro United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 381, Asheboro, NC 27204 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
