Ruth Callicutt Lyndon, age 90, of North Pointe Assisted Living, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Randolph Hospice House.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 2:00-3:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 3:30 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Connie Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lyndon was born in the Union Township of Randolph County on August 3, 1922 to John Franklin and Myrtle Lanier Callicutt. She was retired from General Electric and was active for many years at Grace United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy "Jack" Lyndon, son Kenneth Michael Lyndon, Sr., granddaughter, DeeDee Fowler Shaver, sisters Alice Callicutt Covington and Kate Callicutt Harvell, and brothers Ernest, Eli, Ervin and John F. Callicutt. She was formerly a Cub Scout den mother and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting. Ruth most enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her friends at North Pointe Assisted Living.
She is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Fowler (Charles) of Randleman, sons, Eddie Lyndon (Marion), Randy Lyndon (Kathy) both of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lyndon of Sanford; sister, Treva C. Stine of North Pointe Assisted Living in Asheboro; grandchildren, Mike Lyndon, Tommy Lyndon, Craig Lyndon, Carlyle Perkins, Jessica Perkins, Tracy Smith, Derrick Lyndon, Vance Lyndon, Sarah Dunn, Charlie Fowler, Mikey Fowler, Leesa Floyd, Donnie Floyd, and Danny Floyd; great grandchildren, Aiden, Allie, Amber, Anna, Ashleigh, Ayden, Braxton, Bryant, Caleb, Grayson, Grayson, Hannah, Indiana, Kara, Leilani, Lexi, Logan, Miclah, Rebekah, Samantha, Thurman, Tristian, Tori, Tyler, and Zachary; and great great granddaughter, Rylee Grace.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses on the 200 hall at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home and to Hospice of Randolph for the excellent care given to Ruth.
