Russell Norman Diggs

Russell Norman Diggs, age 56, of Franklinville died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Diggs was born February 21, 1961 in Baltimore, MD to Russell I. and Marguerite Girton Diggs.

He was a member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church where he operated the sound board for church services and vacation bible school. Mr. Diggs was a volunteer fireman with the Climax Fire Department and received the Firefighter of the Year award in 2014. Mr. Diggs was the proud owner of eight shelter rescue fur babies.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Brown Diggs; sister, Carol Diggs Feeser of Woodbine, MD; nephew, Timothy Feeser and wife Sarah of New Freedom, PA; niece, Caitlin Bishop and husband Darrell of Burns, TN; mother-in-law, Martha Brown of Franklinville; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Brown of Franklinville, Doris Garver of Bristol, TN.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Viewing at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, 5056 NC Hwy 22 North, Franklinville at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2017 with funeral services beginning at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jacob Kyker and Pastor Alanda Harris officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery after the service. Refreshments afterward in the church fellowship hall.
